VCS Leaders Advisory GroupThe Regional Forum wants to ensure effective engagement of the VCS at all levels from operational to strategic in this changing operating framework. The Forum has set up a new way for this to happen ~ the VSC Leaders Advisory Group. This new way will respect the sector’s commitment to accountability and deliver a contribution to regional planning and programme making in a timely, flexible and useful manner and at the right level.
The VCS Leaders Advisory Group was set up to work both across the region and have the capacity to turn its attention to specific City Regions and other structures as required. It involves leaders of the sector who have experience and knowledge of economic and planning programmes and of their communities. By having a wide scope across the region it would be able to draw on the widest range of expertise and allow for comparison of how different City Regions or other structures are working.
The Advisory Group is intended as a positive contribution to the region. It will offer its expertise as a Group to regional bodies and it will also offer skilled individual members to play a representative or advisory role at regional and sub regional levels.
The first five appointees are:
- Helen Groves (Humber Learning Consortium)
- Peter McGurn (Goodwin Centre, Hull)
- David Smith (Leeds Voice)
- John Bracewell (Groundwork Yorkshire and the Humber)
- Sharon Allen (St Anne's Community Services)
