Workforce Development and Skills

Learning for Life
"The VCS makes a massive contribution to society in relation to both social and economic regeneration – it carries this out in part though its significant roles as an employer, a provider of learning, and as a source of expertise, communication and co-ordination." The Learning and Skills Manifesto

In an ever changing economic climate the sector needs to recruit, retain and develop a diverse, appropriately skilled paid or unpaid workforce. Employers have to focus on workforce development ensuring that the people within the sector are recruited, supported and performing to the best of their abilities and individuals need appropriate opportunities to develop skills.

Workforce development and skills should form the bedrock of any voluntary or community organisation. In response to this, the Learning and Skills Manifesto Learning for Life - Including All Our Voices has identified the sector's headline development issues and actions being taken to address them.
